Teacher 4 Kids
Teacher 4 Kids offers a series of elementary school courses based on Ontario curriculum. We have also offer additional courses that is not covered by the curriculum yet considered to be essential for kids today.
The pace of change in social interaction on the web has revolutionized the way kids learn and interact these day. Unfortunately many schools do not have resources to keep up with pace so parents are left to fill the gap. We believe it is absolutely crucial for kids and parents to better understand the benefits and dangers of these technologies through courses that are offered here. We hope you will find the material useful and practical.
You can register to any of these courses for FREE:
Mathematics – This covers pattern, measurement, number sense and numeration, geometry, spatial sense, data management and probability
Online Presence – The course covers online safety and other modern online social technologies like Twitter, Forums, Interactive Gaming, Facebook, Chat etc.
Monopoly & Rock Band With Skype
Many of us have used Skype at some point to contact relatives and friends in different regions or countries. Last Christmas my family decided to play a board game with relatives in UK. We picked Monopoly and we were not sure if the concept was going to work out.
The setup required our relatives in UK to also have a Monopoly board at their end. Although the street names were different we managed to overcome the issue by referring to the streets by color and position (e.g., second purple).
We used sticky tags to mark who purchased each street. For those of you in finance you may want to spice it up by introducing variable exchange rate;)
Over Booked Kids
Some kids these days have a weekly schedule that is jam packed with after school activities with parents chauffeuring them around. Don’t get me wrong, having active kids is a good thing. It teaches kids structure and other valuable lessons depending on the activity but how much is too much? Is it good for kids to have something every evening and every weekend?
